ROXBOROUGH NATIVE

Roger Ross

Roger grew up on Lauriston Street in the Wissahickon section of 19128.  He attended St. Mary of the Assumption in Manayunk for grade school, and then Roman Catholic High School at Broad and Vine.  After 4 years in Worcester, Ma, Roger received a BA in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.  Upon his arrival back in Philly, his High School rowing coach called on him to take over the crew program at Roman.  While coaching on the Schuylkill, Roger became the unofficial plumber of historic Boathouse Row, and thus created Roger Ross Plumbing & Heating.  Roger learned plumbing under his older brother and master plumber, William, since a very young age.  Roger lives on Green Lane in Roxborough, in a historic home he saved from demolition.
